Life in Citibank...

Life in Citi maybe a real kingdom of boredom ...however, it is the POWER of friendships which kept me surviving .. and these are the pretty ladies of our department. ;)

Office shot at Citibank Millenia Tower ;)

BBQ at Juanna, our manager's place at Pasir Ris. (i couldn't eat BBQ! So i ate cooked food there. Although i'm vegetarian, i still visit friends' BBQ sessions alright?! =P )
Notice that the ladies all quite pretty?? ehehEEHEeh~~* Want their numbers?? ALL ATTACHED LE!!!
And also, the Mr Wu Zun that i mentioned. Although not very alike lah...but he's got some character and the HEIGHT!! (1.83cm), but lack of sense of humour. I'm 1000times more humourous than him leh~ Anyway...yah..that's about it. ;) I enjoy their company amist the tons of applications of credit cards...

Letting Go and Abandonment

Today, someone told me the difference between "Letting go" and "Abandonment".

E.g.
You are clutching tightly to a bunch of keys.
It's either,
1. You drop it to the floor
Or
2. You open up your hands and let it remain there.

Num 1 reflects abandoment. It shows that you are just trying to throw away whatever problem you just have and run away from it.
Num 2 reflects letting go. You accept that you have this issue, not run away and face it.

Reminds me of the confession i made to this guy a 3 weeks ago.
The first time i told him that i like him, i choose to run away, not wanting to come face to face with him, to avoid embarassement, feel sad that he has rejected me, etc. I refused to accept that he wouldn't like me, for whatever i done for him. I believed that TIME WILL TELL. TIME WILL PROVE THAT HE WILL BEGIN TO LIKE ME.That was running away from the truth, sad to say.

The second time i told him subtly that i still like him, i choose the easy way out. Send SMS. Stupidest thing to do, and easiest way out, because i get him to know that i still like him, and not feeling rejected because i KNEW he dunno how to react (he wouldn't reply lah!duh!)

The third time, which is the most recent, i met him to want to know the truth, right in front of him, face to face. He told me and i accept it. I didn't feel rejected this time, but freed. We even chat and laugh right after he told me he doesn't like me! This is the example shown by the bunch of keys. I still do like him, i accept that i have this issue and let God grace me. i can face him normally and not run away anymore. I feel at ease when i am with him and not feel that hateful rejection feeling that i am rejected 3 times BY THE SAME GUY!! ahhaAAH~~*

Damn i am proud of myself. I can say that i am SLIGHTLY more open to guys now...maybe the guy in my office can make it, compared to some guys introdued by my girlfriends.. My standards is really high after checking out some guys recently.. i look for pple with good fengshui (no need to be too rich now, but must have determination and perseverance to stay tough in doing biz), like Arthur Yap and Nicholas Chia combined + Wu zun's looks. ahhaAAHa~~*

If got good lobang for such guys (got gf also can!! Not married can liao.hahaAH~*), just let me know! ;)

Standard Chartered Mararthon 2007

Early morning 4.30am, i got onto KL's dad's cab to get to our 1st destination of the day, Padang field, to meet up with Weijie and we headed to Fullerton starting point after loading our bags. Saw alot of enthusiatic pple waiting for the start of Full marathon (42.195km!!) at 5.30am.

Here's where Long Sheng, KL and jie all doing their warming ups, getting prepared for the race. LS even said that i will run a 1.5hr run for my 10km race! Let's see whether i can achieve it.... hehe~* Here's Hui Mien as well! SHe's Long Sheng's wife and she's going for the 21.5km half marathon!

Here's the starting point beaconing the marathoners and off they went!!
See that huge beaming light?? Blocked all that fatastic view of thousands of enthu pple..ahaAHAh~*

A great event where i saw many of my "long time no see" friends while running! I saw Han Boon from Siling pri, Zheng Guo from Pioneer JC, (full marathon!), Anthony and Wu WeiCai from ex-sch band BT Band. And i tot i saw Kumar as well...better go confirm with him again. ;)

From Left: Long Sheng, WeiJie, KL and Gavin.

Here's me and my friends from WBG!! I run 10km while they ran for the 42.195km full marathon... i finished at 9.40am, while they all come back after 10.30pm (sub 5!! Under 5 hrs), some at 12.30pm even! LS was..quite accurate. haaHAa~ i ran a 1:21:22sec. Quite an achievement for me who only trained twice before running. hahaAH~* HuiMien clocked 3hr for her half marathon too~ Great~ ;)

Jet, Ivy and Seth went for it also!! NEver in their lifes have they went for a full marathon, Just 30yrs of age and they can still clock quite a speedy timing!! Impressive..

I waited and stoned at 200m before the finishing line until i dozed off for 10 mins and i only saw Long Sheng and Gavin running back. The rest i din see...my eyes went dazy after watching hundreds of pple running past, in the same motion, for 2 hrs!!!!!!!!!!!!

But u know what? Its the perservance to finish that DAMN LONG run which counts... That's pushing themselves to the LIMITS!!! (Salutes to the full marathon runners!)

Just like the business we are doing. Perservance to drive us to the LIMITS. ;)

An event that, makes me wanna go for the FULL marathon next year. 10km is really no kick after running it. While i was running, my mind kept thinking....10km is not comparable to 42.195km...

While i was running at 8km already, i was thinking..."fwah!! they have to run 5 times by distance ah...That's pushing to their limits...!!!!" I raced past the finishing line, feeling...sian...i should have gone for 21.5km at least...

The learning experience from the 10km run: "I can achieve far greater. 10km can't test out my limits". A real test to my mind, mental strength, as for the past whole 10km i was running, i kept thinking abt stuffs to kept myself going...Band comp '98 music..Jet's motivating music..i'm Alive by Celine Dion..alot of mental stress, until one moment, i decided, "THAT"S IT!! I HAD ENOUGH OF THINKING TOO MUCH!!! JUST run lah!!! RUN!!!!" Getting rid of all rubbish and shit and chiong for what i want. hahaAH~* Just like our biz.. if we kept thinking of the negatives, we will be literally self-poisoning ourselves. Just run lah!!!

Marathoner's tips: U only start to walk after 20+km!! Even if u run very Very VERY slow before that, u still must run!!! If you stop to walk before 20km, jia lat BIG TIME....

Alamak!! My last man only stopped to walk after 17km leh!!! How am i gonna race that full marathon?? That's gonna REALLY test my limits if i go for it next year..

Gonna run with these guys again! Jia you!

Quote:"If you want to win something, run 100 metres. If you want to experience something, run a marathon." ~ Emil Zatopek"

*And this is Santa Claus (managed to catch a back view) that KL and I met while we are on the MRT back home! Wish for a Merry Wealthy Christmas this year!! ;)

Freedom

23:36, 30 Nov 2007. My beautiful little dream shattered. Sad, but i am freed.

I imagined that i would be full of tears asking him the question. But when i faced him, i couldn't help but laugh at him. Dunno why. I feel like..a "Arthur Yap". Felt like a funny woman, waited so long at the mrt, having my heart almost jumped out while i popped the qn. hahaAAHah~* (No offence to Arthur, but i simply love his humour)

Before asking the qn, I asked him to choose between a and b. When he answer my qn, he must say it out fast. He must say it firmly. And then, i paused for a long while...............................................................................
Its 1000 times more diffcult than invitation to traders' presentation!! I couldn't face him, so i asked him not to face me. Watching his side view, i know the ans already. I wanted to forget abt asking, but i have to. Or else i would have allowed myself to escape into my beautiful little dream. i popped the qn. He didn't want to ans directly, just like the first time i asked him 1.5 year ago.

The longer he dragged time and not answering, the more hopeful i got! So i forced him to choose between a and b. He choosed option b. All these took less than 10mins.

Lots of tears...but I feel relieved and freed...

The Declaration

After talking to Lin for 1hr 23mins on the phone (now 12:52am), i decided that i shall make the move, for the 3rd time and the last time, to declare my liking for him (realised that i din say "love" for him? i'm scared of committment too!!)

O'right...declare my love for him. To true love. If he turns me down again, i must commit myself to finding true love and not look back. I shall go for The Dating Loft's session on 14 Feb 2008!! 6 singles' meeting session and 12 private datings!!!

You know, the proudest thing i ever do, most daring and courageous stuff i ever did, was to tell someone that i like him. I can be a coward doing presentations, but telling or chasing someone, THAT i can do. However, to do it AND commit to loving him for my lifetime (of course i started it wanting it to last a lifetime!!).. its tough. But i still want to do it, this time ard... either commit, or move on.

Times are running out, towards the cut off date on 12 Dec for the franchise trading biz, but i just find myself unable to fully commit to work if i can't get my heart settled. I want to get things done and know how's he doing, whether he's getting on well out there...I want to commit to both my work and true love. If things works out, time can be planned and managed. If committment isn't promised...i guess..i wouldn't be able to do well in either biz or true love... I sincerely do think that both things are linked. Yah..whatever.

So this weekend is the Ultimum. Wish me love. :)

HERO!!!

I won a contest!! A pair of movie preview tickets to HERO!! And guess who i went with? hehe...no one knows... ;)

That show was simply awesome.. haha, although he doesn't quite understand how the story flows (because they were speaking Japanese all the time! sometimes got spanish, got korea also!!) Overall, its a good show to catch. ;) The company is even better. Our 2nd movie together. Better this time round. Don't tell him u all saw this posting! Its a public secret!! (doubt that he ever reads blogs..IT idiot..ahah~)

We had Subway Veggie Delite for dinner, with 3 cookies, 2 cups of ice lemon teas and it was quite filling. Throughout the movie, it felt it is quite the same as the drama serial "Hero" itself. Quite memorable, because it was one of my favourite TV serials in my sec sch days. =) hahAHa~* Oh..my hero..haha~*

There's the female lead, who waited(although she denys..) 6 years for the male lead! I wonder i will ever wait that long..and coincidentally, i'll calculated a few days back that, according to what-so-ever info i heard from last time, human relationship feelings for another partner starts to ... "subside",due to some hormones..dunno what lah.. after a couple of years.Somemore mine is one-sided!! HaizZz....I think mine is 3 years maximum. 2 years passed already. Left 1 more year... haha~* I want my other half by next Valentines' day!!! Hope my dream comes true. =)

Anyway, nowadays very busy..with tons of work @ citibank. Its the physical tireness straining after work. PLUS Arthur Yap's in the picture!! Franchise Trading Model!! A model that totally excites me! Gets my adrenalin pumping to aim for my monthly goals!!! Man...i'll be busy doing activities, so may not be updating the blog for sometime.. so hahAHA~~ i'll do when i have the time to. ;)

拥抱爱与丰盛 Love and Abundance

知见心理学国际训练师张含瑄老师 (Zhang Han Xuan) was here for 2days session @ SMU. Session was amazing.. time for self-healing and applying what i've learnt.

Typing this after eaten cheese prata from my neighbour kopitiam. I really loved the prata there, because of a special person...

I used to hate my own birthdays..because of certain events which happened in the past. The only 2 good birthdays i will remember forever is my 16th and 23rd birthday. The 16th was with my a group of beloved friends from BTband who brought me to ECP on a rainy day. ahahAH~* And the 23rd, was with this special guy, knowing that i was gonna spend a lonely birthday by myself, accompanied me to my neighbourhood kopitiam to eat roti prata.

How's it related to PoV? I used to hate birthdays because of a lack of self-worthiness, an event happened during my 7th birthday. Going for PoV, i set 2 goals to achieve:
1) A promise to heal and love myself (this is very difficult for most pple)
2) To have a partner by next year Valentine's day 2008
Only when i learn to love myself (not having self-guilt, self-attacks,and commit to loving myself for who i am), i will be able to love others.

Ms. Zhang Han Xuan metioned that during a relationship, there is the honeymoon period, followed by the Power struggle period, where couples may start to notice each other's so-called incompatibility, faults, and mistakes. Ususally couples break up when they can't get past this stage.

A question asked by Ms. Zhang Han Xuan,
Qns: How to differentiate love and needs?
Ans: Do you love him so u need him, or do you need him so you love him?
Take time off, be with yourself and ask that question.
And if you still don't know, then Commit to the person. A promise to your other half in the relationship.

How to survive power struggle? Power Struggle happens during the independent stage of a relationship. Committement to another person is the route to interdependence, is one of the hardest things to do, especially when you don't even love yourself.

Love thyself, and you will be able to love others. How can you give love to others when u are in drought, lack of it? :)

Pursuit of Happyness - a start through PoV

I made up my mind to attend this coming weekend's 2 day PoV workshop by Zhang Han Xuan.

With only one thing in mind, Pursuit of Happyness. To revive myself from the drought in relationship i am suffering. To rekindle the light i always have for the pple i love. =) Jia you!~*

Got this idea at 31 October 2007, 23:58. Decision set at 1 November 2007, 00:00! It'll mark a great beginning to next year 2008!!! Hereby, I wish for the love i wholly desired for all these years, by the coming Valentine's day (2008). =)

Tuesdays with Morrie...talk about Marriage

Tuesdays with Morrie This is quite a good book, which i found on Jet's blog. That's why i decided to read a few chapters. A book mostly read by Christians, i was simply interested in a few chapters,

"We talk about Marriage"...
Morrie: "It's so important to find a loving relationship with someone because so much of the culture does not give you that. But the poor kids today, either they're too selfish to take part in a real loving relationship, or they rush into marriage and then six months later, they get divorced. They don't know what they want in a partner. They don't know who they are themselves - so how can they know who they're marrying?"

Morrie had counseled so many unhappy lovers in his years as a professor. "It's sad, because a loved one is so important. You realize that, especially when you're in a time like i am(Morrie had cancer), when you're not doing so well. Friends are great, but friends are not going to be here on a night when you're coughing and can't sleep and someone has to sit up all night with you, comfort you, try to be helpful."

Morrie:"There are a few rules i know to be true about love and marriage: If you don't respect the other person, you're gonna have alot of trouble. If you can't talk openly about what goes on between you, you're gonna have alot of trouble. And if you don't have a common set of values in life, you're gonna have alot of trouble. Your values must be alike."

This reminded me of one of the great people i've met, Mr. Nicholas Chia. He got married at the age of 21!! Why did he choose to get married at such a young age?

He mentioned that he wanted to settle down in a stable relationship, so that he can focus on his career and he knows that his wife, knows what she wants in her man. He said, "This woman knows what she wants, and i am gonna get her before she runs away." Oh that was humorous of him. =) That's speaks much more than just knowing what he and she wants. That spells committment. A huge committment level, requiring both to undestand what it needs to come together...and together they have been for over 27 years...and still going on strong. That's simple amazing, in this culture of the present times.

Losing energy lately...feeling tired all on my own..energy from family and friends are simply fantastic, but i know that i need something more than that. Someone committed to me, committed to our future. Someone to look forward to in life, A support, energy-giver,someone to share my daily joys with, someone i can motivate as well. A committed, responsible man who knows what he wants. And that we know what we both want.

When that brillant man comes by, i will cherish him. Hope that person comes by soon, and i'll move on together with him...

Cynthia's 24th Birthday

This year Oct 13th was Cynthia's Birthday and she turned 24! And we went to Lao Di Fang, a Vegetarian restuarant at Apollo Centre to have dinner (we always loved the food @ Lao Di Fang!!) i really missed having a full gathering...so long..aaahaAHhaH~~* Pple there were: Cynthia, KL, James, Ming Jian, WeiJie, WeiLin, Gavin, Me and special guest...Wilson!! He's quite a fun guy and will definitely remember him for the next one. Pin couldn't make it, but hers will not be forgotten..(coming 31st October!) =)

We walked by Central© just above Clark Quay MRT station and towards Clark quay and settled at Coffee club and here's Cynthia's cake....

A gigantic mudpie!!! Definitely worth the money and needs at least 3 pple to finish!! (That was KL's desert lah...ahhaaAH~)

We didn't prepare a cake, so this is a make-do version lah. ;) And this is Cynthia's new hairdo, so dolly...

Anyway, we went on to catch a midnight show @ Grand Cathay, Resident Evil: Extinction. Cynthia was quite...hmm..horrified during the movie. ahaAHAa~~* So funny when she scream beside me.

.......... Cynthia's Past Birthday!!!
I can still remember Cynthia's 22nd Birthday, where our whole team gathered @ Swensen at Marina Square. Had a great time back then too. ;) Cynthia's 23rd was singing at KTV after dinner... My memories quite good at remembering pple's birthday events. :)

Since planning for this yr's bday wasn't too well-planned, i'll make my wish list for next yr's here now!! hahaAH~~*

The standard SOP....

  • Dinner @ Lao Di Fang Vegetarian Restaurant or Ling Zhi Vegetarian Restaurant or Indinine Cafe!!
  • I don't mind a movie to relax...(provided there's good movies then)

But...

  • No KTV after dinner!!!! Too standard...and i think the guys dun really enjoy that....
  • I don't mind a afternoon trip to Sentosa or ECP for a good cycle and go bowling after that! (These are things which are nice and simple, but dun have the luxury time to do...)
  • I'm actually hoping for an overseas trip! (But without friends along i wouldn't go...)
  • I'm actually quite onz about chilling out @ a games cafe like Settler's place! hahaAH~*
  • Last but not least.... i still want the same old friends around with me for my next birthday. ;) ( I still do love my family also, alright?! :P )

Wealth Creation Program

A prestigious private group session with multimillionaire, businessman, investor and ex-banker CEO Mr. Nicholas Chia. He is currently CEO of WBG and chairman of DSAS.

Wealth Creation Program is a 2-year program that handholds you towards having wealth running in your blood.

AN AMAZING FIRST SESSION [14 October 2007]...Jet has prepared a brief summary of the important points and ideas mentioned by Mr. Nicholas Chia during his 3-hour long session. My advice is to hear it direct from Mr. Chia himself during Wealth Circle Program.

Around thirty qualified people from all walks of life have the luxury of being up-close and personal with Mr. Nicholas Chia on Sunday. Mr. Chia spoke of 3 major topics todayduring his first session, namely (i) wealth is about spending, (ii) discipline, and (iii) the structure of wealth. He repeatedly emphasized that we should understand his logic of thinking and not just tend to his answers to various questions. The framework of thinking is critical. This dictates everything we will become.

Topic 1: Wealth is about spending
Wealth is about spending and not saving! He advised us to chart out on how we investour (i) time and (ii) money on separate sheets daily. Money sheet indicates where our money goes to. Money=soldiers, they should help work for us.

On the topic of spending money, he shared with us why he sits First Class and why he must be seen at Ritz Carlton once every few months. Why First Class? Because deals are made at the Solitaire Lounge which one can go when one flies First Class! E.g. For a S$8,000 ticket, he got offered a directorship which pays S$80,000 p.a. and only has to attend 3 meetings. That’s good spending! Why Ritz Carlton? “You go Ritz Carlton, you get Ritz Carlton deals; you go coffeeshop, you get coffeeshop deals!” Plus Mr, Chia wants to ensure that he injects a culture of wealth for his kids while they are young. In summary, smart people are smart spenders.

Wealth is not just about being rich, it goes much deeper than that. Wealth is about money, but not all about money. He added that the spouse is utmost important on the path towards wealth. Why? Because we need the right environment to rest, to retire into after a hard day's work and we need to get the energy, support from the spouse and also the family. Hence it is crucial that we develop a strong bond with our family such that they can support us better.

Get a good tax consultant! Bill Gates spends millions hiring good tax consultant and other consultants. Pay the expert to do what they are expert in. But don’t believe them entirely, you still gotta decide on your own and trust your gut.

Rich people don’t save. They EARN.How? They SELL (ideas etc). Sell what? Sell YOURSELF first. Then whatever you sell later, people will buy. Wealthy people are “dai feng (generous)” versus most others who are “siew feng"(stingy).

Someone asked Mr. Chia which are the top areas that he spends time on. He replied
(i)time with family, God, rest/holidays
(ii) time with friends and consultants in the industry he is in so that he can learn from them; as chairman of DSAS, he would meet up with each member at least once a month
(iii) time with business leaders and people from the ground. He added that everything is about sales. Use ears to sell. Listen to them. His son wanted to be the greatest salesman, i.e. a doctor! Because they sell by listening to their patients and then, just writing! And they don’t get rejected!

On the virtues and values that wealthy people have, he mentioned
(i) generosity
(ii)mutual respect
(iii) faith
(iv) hope and
(v) love.
(vi)Hope. Hope is something we should cling on to, until we die. Life isn't worth living if we lead a hopeless life.

Topic 2: Discipline
Discipline is all about how we run our lives. If you are your own boss, you must have the same discipline as if you are still working for someone else!

Topic 3: Structure of Wealth
Incorporate a company for tax advantages.Build a tax efficient structure. Be a boss, not an employee because of obvious tax benefits.

(Topics 2 & 3 are not elaborated as it is quoted with examples of reputable people, personal friends of Nicholas Chia)

On a side note, Mr. Chia encouraged us to go feel our dream car and house. Do not just look at the brochure but physically go test drive that porsche, rev the engine by stepping on that accelerator, and go visit the show-flat. He was already driving around in porsches at a very young age! I believe with him as our mentor in wealth, we will be there one day.

Remember, this is just an introduction by Mr. Nicholas Chia. I don’t think he has even started yet, do you?

Timelines and Decision making

[A reminder note from Long Sheng]
Timeline is, sometimes, more important than results.(during our learning curve)
When we are set to achieve a goal, usually a timeline is attached to it. Many atimes, we may not be able to achieve them and along the way, we may start giving up. However, we forgot that the result may not be as important as the timeline, the process. It is because as we experience more things which drives us to hit targets by the dateline, we are faced with numerous rejections, which builds the numbers which moves us towards success. (SO, if we know we are still not making up the numbers, DO HARDER instead of giving up!! You know ur potential is not maximised!!)

Why do i say during the learning curve? Generally, normal poly/university grads are not able to accept failures (notice most pple do not like sales, because we are not willing to face rejections, even if it brings us good money). which is why i'm complainig abt myself now. ahahAHa~~*

Action plan: stick to the timeline, do whatever things that i need to do. Shut up and dun complain abt not achieving results. Failures are bound to be met, so, have constant REVIEWS what i did correct and what went wrong. Seek constant and never-ending IMPROVEMENTS!!

And also...

Decision making is one of the essential skills that differentiates successful pple and normal pple. That's what made one of the difference from my leaders and i.

So Annie 加油!! Long way to go!~~!~*

The grass is always greener over the graveyard

The grass is always greener over the graveyard speaks about the conspiracy the ego has for us, how it tries to trap or delay us.

There are two common traps with this conspiracy, both of which have us believe our happiness lies elsewhere. The first is where we are with a partner that we have been in relationship with for awhile, and all of a sudden, we see someone new coming along who seems much more attractive to us. Now, if we have been in a power struggle with our partner, or working through the Dead Zone, anyone will look more attractive. After all, the first stage of a relationship is the romance stage, so anybody new will look more attractive. Of course, if we went on with the new person, we would eventually reach power struggle and the Dead Zone with them, too.

The second common trap is when we are in a relationship with someone and our mind begins thinking about someone we were with in the past. We dream about them and, consequently, make our present relationship tasteless, in which case, we move on, and later end up fantasising about the relationship we just left, as well as the one before.

The key to both traps is that we think our happiness is some place other than where we are. The ego works to trap us out of our present, possible happiness.

Today, appreciate the situation you are in now. Really appreciate your partner and everything about your life. With integrity, you can enjoy the connections with everyone who is attractive around you, without losing your present happiness. Do not fall into the trap of thinking the grass is greener some place else.

This Lesson is from
If It Hurts, It Isn't Love - a book by Chuck Spezzano.

Mid Autumn Festival @ WBG

中秋夜,月圆圆,人团圆,心相连
Although its a very heart-warming mid autumn festival @ WBG, it didn't feel the same...without the same group of people i loved dearly that night =( However, it was encouraging that my bro took the effort to chiong cab from Yishun camp, just to attend this casual event. Thx bro! You're the BEST! =)

*By the way, i draw that whiteboard! ;) Simple and quite nice to me. hehe~~*

Our Emcee's for the night, YingYing and Nick, in their very "china" attire! ahhaAH~* Handsome guy and sweet lady~ ;)

That's our crowd for the night. And they're having a pomelo-peeling competition!

That's my bro (on the left) and Ee pin's (on the right) team! For the pomelo competition ;)
The pomelo's ended up..hmm..still quite edible after all. haaHAa~*Awesome...That's the main feature of the night, "VP Mooncakes"!!! With black lotus, pumpkin, snowskin and traditional baked skins. Tasted like...green tea, i think(never tried green tea mooncake b4 leh). The taste is simple FANTASTIC!~!~~**

We were thinking whether to sell it next year..hahaAHA~*

The crowd inside the comfy room, getting entertained with games and prizes!

Dear Alice from the Management team, spending her last day at WBG with us.
